Liesl Codrington is the Founder and Director of Vaere Social — a strategic advisory practice focused on embedding social value, climate foresight, and inclusion into city-shaping decisions.

With over 20 years' experience at the intersection of planning, infrastructure, policy, and community strategy, Liesl supports governments and industry partners to navigate complex challenges and deliver outcomes that are socially responsive, future-ready, and grounded in lived experience.

She has led high-impact projects across NSW, the ACT, Victoria, Queensland, and South Australia — spanning infrastructure, education, renewable energy, transport, housing, and health. Her portfolio includes the Snowy Mountains and Wagga Wagga Special Activation Precincts, Ginninderry, Harbourside, and dozens of social impact assessments, infrastructure strategies, and policy reviews.

Liesl is also a recognised leader in inclusive planning and social infrastructure, with published work in neurodivergent-inclusive design, wellbeing frameworks, and social resilience. Her contributions extend into national networks through roles like the ACT Social Sustainability Committee of the Property Council of Australia.

Known for her systems thinking, clarity of insight, and people-first approach, Liesl brings a rare ability to distil complexity and align diverse stakeholders around shared goals.

We have a responsibility to shape places that stand the test of time — socially, environmentally, and politically. That starts with putting people at the centre of planning and investing in long-term resilience.
