Vaere Social is a boutique, specialist social sustainability and social research consultancy practice committed to planning better communities. Vaere is based in Canberra and works across Australia to achieve better insights and outcomes for Australia’s urban and regional communities.

We have an outstanding record of delivering quality social planning and social research advice to our public and private sector clients. Our Director and Founder, Liesl Codrington, is highly awarded, nationally respected, and stays at the cutting edge of social sustainability practice. She can advise you on how to make your project or development have a real and positive impact on people and communities, and undertake research to build the evidence base.

Vaere (pronounced "vair") is about creating places for people to 'be'. The name is inspired by the Norwegian (or Danish) word valvære, which means wellbeing.

We bring a systems thinking approach, to problem solve the complexity of urban planning for our future in a complex, changing and uncertain world.
