About Vaere

Our name, Vaere (pronounced VAIR), is drawn from the Norwegian word to be — reflecting our commitment to presence, purpose, and people. It also echoes velvære, meaning wellbeing — a guiding principle in all we do.

Our purpose

We believe sustainable communities are built when people, resilience, and long-term social value are at the centre of decision-making. Our work bridges the human and environmental dimensions of planning to deliver outcomes that serve both people and planet.

Our experience

For more than two decades, Vaere Social has shaped projects, policies, and reforms across Australia. Our expertise includes social impact assessment, social infrastructure planning, community wellbeing, and social value frameworks, alongside strategic advisory in climate adaptation and systems change. From urban precincts to regional strategies and national reforms, we bring clarity, trust, and people-centred insight.
